Choices...

Our lives are filled with choices, ranging from life-changing choices to routine choices made daily. Like it or not, we bear the consequences for our choices made. We only get to live once. Time flies and never return. It just shows how crucial and precious the choices we made through every single step of our lives.

So, what really matters is, "How can I ensure myself to make right choices in life?"

For those who believe, it is to live under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It means that I don't get to do what wish, but what Christ wish for me to do. No one likes the image of being a slave. But becoming a 'slave' under the Lordship of Christ brings life, rather misusing my freedom to do things under my wish that leads to sins, and eventually death.

It is never easy, that's why only a few will enter through the narrow gate as the rest head towards the wide gate where all the crowds gather. It is a challenge to live out God's image in our current world, as we always end up listening to such inner voices, "Why should I work hard in living out Christ? Everyone else is doing otherwise."

As Christ chose to stand out and display God-likeness during His time, it cost Him His life, thus reviving our lives.

The question we need to ask ourselves is, "Am I so ignorant of my true identity that I choose to live against it?"

For it is written, "The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life."

Remembering September 11

September 11. A date that many would want to forget. It brings back sad memories of many innocent lives lost, for being caught in the wrong end of hatred and the failure to see eye-to-eye.

I see it as a sign of human weakness, a need for dialogue and ultimately, a need to be shown the love of God.

Everyone existed to stand out from one another, and yet no one can claim to survive on his own. Let's face it, we need each other.

But how can we live with each other in the midst of all our differences? We need to learn how to love. Before we learn to cast away our differences and appreciate each others strength in the spirit of dialogue, we are bound to replay 'September 11' in our everyday lives.

As we remember September 11 today, ultimately, instead of insisting others to see things through my eyes, the question we need ask ourselves is, "Am I willing to be a neighbour to others?"

For it is written, "Love your neighbour as yourself."

Merdeka!

As Malaysia celebrates her 51st Independence Day today, I would also like to take this opportunity to declare my independence from the control of the devil, while proclaiming a total dependence on Christ - the way, the truth and the life.

Heavenly Father, I know I had never been obedient to Your calling, always trying to escape to the other way such as Jonah. But You never gave up on me, always encouraging me to return. Once again, I'm thankful for the second chance to answer Your call - comforting Your people, reconciling people in Your love.

Help me Lord to keep hold of this fresh vision and start again with a renewed strength of Your Holy Spirit, to be the salt and light of the world! Amen.

First Post

After toying with the idea of blogging for quite some time, I had finally joined the bandwagon.

It doesn't come as a coincidence that my Operating Systems course played a part in advancing my steps to initiate this interesting hobby, but rather as an indication for me to begin sharing my thoughts and concerns that I had kept to myself all these while.

May this blog serves to bridge the gap across all religious, ethnics and cultural backgrounds, in the spirit of dialogue.
