Remembering September 11

September 11. A date that many would want to forget. It brings back sad memories of many innocent lives lost, for being caught in the wrong end of hatred and the failure to see eye-to-eye.

I see it as a sign of human weakness, a need for dialogue and ultimately, a need to be shown the love of God.

Everyone existed to stand out from one another, and yet no one can claim to survive on his own. Let's face it, we need each other.

But how can we live with each other in the midst of all our differences? We need to learn how to love. Before we learn to cast away our differences and appreciate each others strength in the spirit of dialogue, we are bound to replay 'September 11' in our everyday lives.

As we remember September 11 today, ultimately, instead of insisting others to see things through my eyes, the question we need ask ourselves is, "Am I willing to be a neighbour to others?"

For it is written, "Love your neighbour as yourself."
